The Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team has officially confirmed the participation of its VO65 yacht Racing for the Planet in the upcoming sixth edition of the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy — one of Portugal’s most high-profile sailing events.
Hosted by the Mirpuri Foundation in collaboration with Clube Naval de Cascais, the prestigious regatta returns to Cascais from July 4th to 6th, 2025, bringing together elite sailors from around the world to mark the start of the summer sailing season.
The VO65 Racing for the Planet, a veteran of The Ocean Race 2023 and winner of The Ocean Race Europe 2021, will once again sail under the banner of the Mirpuri Foundation’s environmental initiative “Racing for the Planet – #StopClimateChange,” continuing its mission to promote awareness of ocean conservation and climate action.
This year’s edition promises an exciting program across various competitive classes, including TP52, NHC, ORC, J70, SB20, Snipe, Finn, and Optimist fleets.
Having claimed line honours in the VO65 class every year since the event’s inception — including victories in Line Honours in the inaugural 2020 race, and in 2023 and 2024 — the Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team returns to defend its title on home waters.
Racing for the VO65 fleet begins on Saturday, July 5th, and the crew lineup for Racing for the Planet will be revealed in the coming weeks.
